Established Organizations

Before we can create something new, it's best we establish what came before us. People have stood up against violence long before Men Against Violent Men.

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the largest anti sexual violence organization in the United States. Their mission is to stop sexual violence by supporting survivors, holding perpetrators accountable, and creating safer communities.

National Domestic Violence Hotline is a donation-based organization that acts as a 24/7 hotline for any and all questions about domestic violence, including what to do if you're part of one, how to report one, resources available and so much more. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) was actually absorbed into the organization, and they still do a large part of providing resources for victims but in the form of a hotline as their primary method.

Our Rescue is a large anti human trafficking organization with a special aim against child exploitation. They will actually work alongside law enforcement themselves to help with rescue operations and intelligence.

Futures Without Violence is an organization aimed at preventing violence before it starts. They do this through innovative and educational programs and supporting public policies that support, as their name suggests, futures without violence. They focus on building connections with young men and boys to help them be more resilient for the future.

Prevent Child Abuse America is one of the oldest organizations on this list that specifically combats child abuse and neglect. It might be named differently specific to your state, such as Prevent Child Abuse Florida, but their role is helping out with education as well helping with investigations.

National Network To End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is a network that helps domestic violence victims, advocate for federal change and the expansion of economic justice for survivors. One thing they specialize in is helping protect victims from tech-related abuses, such as financial abuse through online banking, and of course they help victims network with one another.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center is actually one of the best resource hotspots for victims of sexual violence. One thing that's unique is one of their main methods of helping grow their expansion of resources, is actually by grabbing research and translating them in a way that provides real change to victims. They're also part of Respect Together and RALIANCE which are other organizations that also combat sexual violence.

Anti-Violence Project is one of the few organizations that has a focus on LGBTQ+ communities, as well as those who are HIV-affected. They support all members and allies to end all forms of violence through education, counseling and advocacy. They also have their own hotline (212-714-1141).

At this point, you might be asking: Why are you making yet ANOTHER organization if there are already so many? And that is a great question. Firstly, this isn't a list of ALL organizations. These are just some of the ones I pulled off with a quick online search. I don't have the time to find every single one of them. But the issue is that many of these are focused on groundwork. And we'd love to help each and every one of these organizations as much as possible. But it gets confusing on how to help, who to help, etc.

That's where Men Against Violent Men comes in. We made helping out a lot easier for busy men and allies. We want to help with education and advocacy too, but we're not doing it the same way as everyone else. We don't have a team of lawyers and detectives sitting around waiting to help. And we don't have the financial means to be able to. But what we can do is help support the organizations that do. And we can do and focus on the things they can't. Like connecting with men who are tired of being lumped in with violent men.

They say it's not all men. But if a man doesn't stand up against the violent men, he might as well not count, and it just becomes all men again. But this is where we have the option to not only make a stand, but also to start changing the culture of men and go from a bastardly rape culture to a society of heroes.

It doesn't matter if you can't afford a shirt from the website. It doesn't matter if there aren't enough violence going on around you to put an end to. You can always support by spreading the message and telling everyone about a brand-new project that's turning men back into protectors in a society that's raising sons to be predators.
